KANGAR, Feb 21 – The films and dramas characterised by superstition, ghost and horror stories aired on televison give a negative impact to society, Perlis mufti Dr Juanda Jaya.
He said he hoped that the Home Ministry and Ministry of Information, Communications and Culture would monitor and control such films and dramas because, among others they seriously insulted Islam.
Speaking to reporters at his office today, he said the Perlis Fatwa Committee which met yesterday, had also raised the matter as it feared the faith of Muslims might be affected.
“It is not just the local movies or dramas but also imported ones,” he said.
Dr Juanda believed that the prevalence such films and dramas was because it received good response but in the long run, was bad for the community.
